BWCA Outfitting Rates and Reservations
We feel that these rates provide an outstanding value! Our complete outfitting includes lightweight canoes, ultralite food and ultralite equipment. We also provide partial outfitting, see our partial outfitting page for the latest rates.Complete outfitting is priced per person, per trip, and covers everything on our complete outfitting services list: canoe, paddles and life jackets, tents, Duluth packs, sleeping bags, the kitchen and stove, all of your trail meals, and transportation to most Ely and Babbitt area entry points. The longer the trip and the larger the group, the lower the daily cost per person.

- Individual rates, per person, per trip. Based on calendar days.
- Examples: A Trip starting on Tuesday and ending the next Tuesday would be an 8 day trip.
A Trips beginning on July 9th and ending on July 15th would be a 7 day trip. - Trips booked and deposited prior to Jan. 1 receive previous years rates.
Discounts
Deduct 20% for children age 7-16. Children ages 6 and under are free. Deduct 5% discount for previous Duane's customers. Discount of 5% if you start your trip before June 10th or after August 20th. Discounts do not apply to non-profit youth groups that are already receiving discounted rates. Deduct $2.00 per day if you transport your own equipment and canoes. Deduct $2.00 per day if you bring your own sleeping bag. Rates are subject to 7.3875% Minnesota Sales Tax. Non-profits exempt with tax I.D. Solo Trips: Add 30% to 2 person rates.
What Your Trip Will Cost Beyond Outfitting
Outfitting rates do not include the U.S. Forest Service permit fees, which are paid to the Forest Service when you reserve your permit on Recreation.gov. Overnight user fees are charged per person, with a lower fee for youth and for holders of senior or access passes, plus a small non-refundable reservation fee. You may also want to budget for a Minnesota fishing license, a night in our bunkhouse before or after the trip, and fuel for your stove.Youth Groups and Organizations

How are trip days counted?Rates are based on calendar days. A trip that starts on a Tuesday and ends the following Tuesday is an 8 day trip, even if you enter the wilderness in the afternoon.
Is there a discount for early or late season trips?
Yes. Trips that start before June 10th or after August 20th receive a 5% discount. Returning Duane's customers also receive 5% off.
Do the rates include the BWCAW permit?
No. Permit and user fees are paid to the U.S. Forest Service. We issue the permit at our base and help you choose an entry point, but the fees themselves are set by the Forest Service.
How do I hold my dates?
